About Us

Founded in 2001 by Andrew Foster, Foster Cranes has become the UK’s leading supplier of used mobile cranes, spider cranes, and specialist lifting equipment.

From the beginning, we recognised a major shortfall in the used crane market. Too often, machines were sold on a “sold as seen” basis, creating uncertainty, downtime, and additional cost for buyers. Our goal was to raise industry standards by supplying fully inspected, ready-to-work cranes that customers could rely on from day one.

Industry-Leading Crane Inspection & Preparation

In 2010, we moved to our purpose-built facility featuring full workshop services and inspection pits, allowing us to deliver a complete crane preparation and refurbishment service in-house. Every crane entering our workshop undergoes a comprehensive mechanical and structural inspection, ensuring even the smallest defects are identified and rectified.

This commitment to quality led us to become the only supplier of used mobile cranes in Europe to offer a warranty, providing customers with confidence and peace of mind.

MOT-Level Mobile Crane Inspections

In 2023, we launched our MOT-level mobile crane inspection programme, setting a new benchmark for safety and compliance. Each crane is subjected to a detailed brake examination, with all necessary repairs completed to ensure braking systems meet OEM performance standards. This ensures every machine leaves our facility meeting the highest safety and operational expectations.

UK Leaders in Spider Cranes & Specialist Lifting Equipment

In January 2024, Foster Cranes was appointed UK dealer for Jekko Cranes, the world’s leading manufacturer of spider cranes and advanced specialist lifting solutions, including the innovative articulated JF range. This enables us to supply customers with cutting-edge lifting technology renowned for reliability, precision, and performance.

In 2025, Jekko Cranes UK began trading as a separate entity, further strengthening our position as the UK’s dominant supplier of spider cranes and compact lifting solutions.
